It was loads of fun to talk to Tom Amis on WCXZ-AM Knoxville TN AM News-talk just prior to the Thanksgiving holiday. We talked about my new book, Mountain Mantras: Wellness and Life Lessons from the Slopes but also focused on the idea of having a gratitude practice this time of year. Thankfulness should not be saved up for Thanksgiving Day!
Here’s the short practice for each and every day:
*When you wake up in the morning, be thankful for that first breath to take in as you awake
*Throughout the day, pause for a few seconds and be thankful for small things (your child’s hand in yours, a patch of blue sky, a gentle breeze, talking with a friend, etc.)
*Pause before meals and snacks and be thankful for the nourishment you are receiving
*At the end of the day before you fall asleep, think of a few things that you are thankful for from your day
