We promised a big announcement upon reaching 100 reviews on Amazon mark for Give It a Go, Eat a Rainbow. YAY, we are at 103 reviews as of today. 🙂 Thank you so much for your help in getting us there!
Our announcement: We are working on a SEQUEL! We have not landed on a title yet, but we’d love your feedback.
Why the sequel? Our readers were REALLY getting into the idea of eating a rainbow, and our rainbow day events have been huge hits. But we have heard a number of (disturbing) times: “Can I eat skittles to get my rainbow”.
Yikes. We thought the imagery of dozens of images of fruits and veggies in our first book would get the point across that the rainbow should come from Mother Earth, but we decided we should be REALLY clear. So we are working on an awesome & cool sequel. And we love the idea of teaching about where good food comes from.
The book features Blake and a new friend (Sammy the Bunny– that’s Sammy in the picture…..awwwww) that helps Blake understand that a “good” rainbow comes from Mother Earth (plants). In the beginning of the book, Blake is confused in a grocery story aisle filled with colors (of not so healthy foods). Sammy takes Blake to a farm and shows how different plants/healthy foods grow using the same color sequence as the first book (Red, Orange/Yellow, Green, Blue/Purple and White). Blake learns plant identification and a little “farm to table” lesson.
We are debating the title and would LOVE your feedback. What do you think of:
